Your stay
Get together as a group
Whether with family or friends, for a weekend, a week’s holiday, Christmas or New Year’s Eve… hire the whole house and stay in all our gîtes.
You’ll be able to enjoy the swimming pool, the peaceful surroundings and our reception room, La Source, where you can prepare and share your meals in a friendly atmosphere.
In the heart of the pedestrianised village, you’ll have access to three upstairs gîtes spread across two buildings, six bedrooms (one of which has no windows), four bathrooms with toilets, three kitchen-living rooms and three private terraces. Our 28 m² reception room, La Source, located on the ground floor, is the ideal place to cook, share meals, get together, have a good time and enjoy our selection of books and board games.
We live on site but know how to keep a low profile. We take care of the daily maintenance of the swimming pool whilst respecting your privacy. As culture enthusiasts, we host shows organised by the Maquis Culturel association in the garden once or twice a year in the spring. View the programme here.
From 18 July to 23 August 2026, our gîtes are available for private hire for a minimum stay of 7 nights, from Saturday to Saturday.

What to do around?
Biodiversity
From morning till night, from the comfort of your terrace, let yourself be enchanted by the spectacle of the wildlife in the Cévennes National Park. Fish, frogs, lizards, birds and butterflies perform their daily ballet. With a bit of luck, beavers and otters – the stars of the Auzonnet – might make an appearance.
Caves
La Cocalière (15 mins), the Aven d'Orgnac (35 mins), the Chauvet Cave (46 mins) – a UNESCO World Heritage Site… and more. Feast your eyes and soak up the fresh air.
Hikes
Whether you’re up for a long walk along the Stevenson Trail or the Budos Trail, or would rather take a leisurely stroll near the gîtes along the Auzonnet, you’re sure to find something to suit you in the Cévennes.
What our guests say
Frequently asked questions
Is the lodge air-conditioned?
No. But during the day, the stone vaults, thick walls, fan, swimming pool, forest and river keep us cool.
Adopt the good habits of the South: close the blinds and shutters during the day. This will help keep the gîtes as cool as possible.
On summer nights, the temperature drops to around 20°C. So open the windows wide: you’ll sleep in the cool... And in the early morning, around 5 o’clock, a blanket is a good idea!
Is it allowed to swim in the river?
The Auzonnet river flows just 10 metres from the gîtes. You can dip your feet in and cool off. If you’d like to go swimming, we can recommend the best spots in the area (Luech, Cèze, Chassezac, Gardons).
How's the arrival going?
Check-in is from 5 pm.
We will welcome you in person to hand over the keys, show you around and offer advice on the local area. If you think you might arrive late, that’s fine; and of course, if your journey doesn’t go to plan, please let us know – we’ll be waiting for you.
Check-out is requested by 9 am.
This is essential on Saturdays during the peak season when we need to do the laundry, clean the three gîtes, sometimes the dining room, the three terraces and the garden, as well as the swimming pool. The rest of the year, if you wish to make the most of your final day, or Sunday if you’ve come for a short stay, we’ve put together a special “late check-out” offer for you. Choose this option and leave at a time that suits you!
Are there any shops nearby?
Within walking distance, in the village of Saint-Jean-de-Valériscle, you’ll find a bread outlet, a community-run, member-supported grocery shop selling goods at cost price, a wellness centre, an inn, a traditional open-air café, a sewing workshop, a hairdresser’s…
For a full shop, Les Mages (3 mins) and Saint-Ambroix (7 mins) have supermarkets and shops.
The market in Alès, at the market halls (20 mins), is a must-visit.
Can we bring our pet?
No. Pets are not allowed.
Is the Wi-Fi working properly?
Yes, the Wi-Fi works well on the terraces and in the garden. However, due to the thickness of the stone walls, there is no Wi-Fi signal inside the lodges.
Do we need a car?
You can reach the terraces using public transport. The train and bus drop you off 200 metres from the gîtes.
However, a car is recommended if you want to make the most of the region. The roads in the Cévennes are winding but beautiful. Double the distance in kilometres to estimate your journey time!
Is the swimming pool safe for children?
Yes, the swimming pool is fitted with a cover that is closed at night. However, parents remain responsible for supervising their children.
