Maquis culturel: when your holidays meet the stage
At Les Terrasses, we do everything we can to make your holiday unlike any other. When evening falls, between the stone walls and the stars of the Cévennes, with the forest as a backdrop, something unexpected happens. An actor bringing Victor Hugo to life. The poetry of a violin rising into the summer night. A singer who takes you on a journey, glass in hand, to a destination unknown.
That's exactly why we created Maquis culturel.
An association born out of a desire to share
Maquis culturel, It is a small collective full of energy and enthusiasm, which we founded with a handful of friends from the village and values such as discovery, sharing, openness to others, conviviality, closeness and diversity.
Our association organises cultural evenings in the village or the valley and its surroundings, most often with free admission, a collection, and at local residents' homes.
At home... sometimes that means at our place, on the terraces.
Because we ourselves are big fans of alternative artistic practices, we wanted to create a place for living and experiencing, where holidaymakers, artists, creators, people curious about the area, schoolchildren, senior citizens and others can come together. In short, a place where culture comes to you, simply, without barriers.
Evenings that will make your stay memorable
Two or three times a year, outside of peak season, we host a show on the terraces. These events have become highlights for both our guests and local residents. And there are plenty of memories to cherish:
- Theatre — Victor Hugo, un géant dans un siècle by Compagnie Élégie
- French song — Jasmine, an intimate and luminous concert
- Violin recital — Romain Bérenguel, between virtuosity and emotion
- Theatre — La Piscine de Siloé, an unforgettable theatrical interlude
Et cette année?
En 2026, deux rendez-vous vous attendent:
- Le 13 juin — Humanistes, par la Compagnie Élégie
- Le 4 septembre — E il viaggio continua, par la Compagnie Au fur et en mesures
