The vineyards in the Cévennes

Vineyards

In moderation, of course

For foodies, we recommend our favourite places to enjoy fresh, seasonal produce at our favourite restaurants. We also offer local produce in our holiday cottages.

What could be more natural, then, than inviting you to discover the wines of our region?

We therefore took the step to become certified Vignobles & Découvertes, and we are delighted to invite you to discover the Cévennes PGI.

A tasting at Les Terrasses? It's possible!

We offer a selection of four wines that we particularly enjoy. They are perfect for sharing with your partner, family or friends.

We are available to help you discover them through our “Vignobles & Découvertes” package, which you can combine with our tasting platters of local produce.

Vignoble
Caprice pour Lilou ? or balade pour amoureux ?

Domaine des Luces

In our opinion (subjective ratings out of 3)

In this family vineyard nestled in the heart of the vineyards, special care is taken to preserve the soil and its biodiversity (limiting tillage, sowing cover crops, using farm compost, planting and maintaining hedges, etc.). The grapes are picked when ripe, before being vinified, then some are aged in barrels for up to 18 months. They produce fine, silky and delicate wines.

Michael welcomes you to discover and taste his IGP Cévennes and AB-certified wines.

Chais Clos la Roque
Tempranillo in the Cévennes?

Clos la roque

In our opinion (subjective ratings out of 3)

Yves Simon is the kind of winemaker we love. He nurtures his vines with talent and intuition, without paying attention to trends and dictates. His wines are unique and atypical, just like him. His grape varieties come from here and elsewhere. Even the most endemic ones have an exotic flavour!

Dip your lips into his Chardonnay and let its notes of white flowers and Reinette apples explode in your mouth, enhanced by spice and Cayenne pepper. Discover his Tannat with notes of garrigue and old roses, supported by a palate where blackcurrant and blueberry rub shoulders with wild thyme and rosemary.

We serve Clos la Roque during our welcome aperitif.

Domaine de Berguerolles
Quality from father to son

Domaine de Berguerolles

In our opinion (subjective ratings out of 3)

Once through the estate gate, you enter a hidden paradise that transports you to Tuscany. This family-run vineyard, now in its third generation, cultivates 22 grape varieties across 36 hectares of organically farmed vines.

Come and taste the wines in the cellar, accompanied by platters or open sandwiches, and stroll through the vineyards on a 3 km marked trail.

The Durfort Cellar
Beware of the mammoth!

La cave de Durfort

The Durfort wine cellar offers wines of character from a mosaic of terroirs and exposures. You can taste a wide range of IGP Cévennes and AOP Duché d'Uzès wines, both organic and conventional. The value for money is unbeatable.

“Jeux dis vigne, je dis vin!”
It is a beautiful walk through the vineyards, scrubland and Duchy of Uzès (starting from the wine cellar).

Vineyard in the Cévennes
Marie's favourite spot in Ardèche

Le château des Lèbres

In our opinion (subjective ratings out of 3)

In 2015, Sébastien Strohl de Pouzols returned to his roots. Together with his wife, he left Lyon to settle on the family estate in the Cévennes region of Ardèche. While he is passionate about working in the vineyards, he is particularly keen to breathe new life into Château des Lèbres, open it to the public and produce high-quality wines.

His goal is to work on a human scale with a lively and authentic approach, favouring very short distribution channels, particularly sales from the cellar.

Throughout the year, you are welcome to visit the estate for wine tourism activities: tastings, of course, but also gourmet walks, concerts and dramatised tours in an exceptional setting.

Mas Seren Vineyard
A food lover in the vineyards

Mas Seren

In our opinion (subjective ratings out of 3)

This beautiful vineyard is perched at an altitude of over 300 metres in the heart of an oak forest in the foothills of the Cévennes. Here, the vines are cultivated organically, respecting their unique environment and maintaining biodiversity, and flourish to the rhythm of horses' hooves.

A mosaic of soils and grape varieties, combined with a sunny but cool climate, further enhance the characteristics of this complex and subtle terroir, producing wines whose aromatic brilliance and fine tannins are underscored by a surprising freshness.

La cartagène
Pineau des Cévennes

Vignoble de la Porte des Cévennes

In our opinion (subjective ratings out of 3)

The Massillargues-Attuech and Lézan cooperative wineries have joined forces to create the “Vignoble de la Porte des Cévennes” cooperative winery, which brings together around a hundred cooperative members.

Have you heard of Cartagène? It is a sweet wine typical of the Cévennes region, made from a blend of 80% fresh grape must and 20% wine brandy. It is a kind of local Pineau.

It was at Vignoble de la Porte des Cévennes that we found our favourite cartagène: “La Paysanne”. Whether as an aperitif or with dessert, it's yet another opportunity to discover our terroir.
