Rules of procedure

We are delighted that you have chosen to stay at Les Terrasses, gîtes in the Cévennes.

Thank you for reading our house rules.

If anything is unclear, please contact us so that we can give you all the details you need to avoid any misunderstandings and make your stay a relaxing and rejuvenating one.

TAKE A BREATH... YOU'VE ARRIVED

We look forward to welcoming you from 5pm on the day of your arrival. Don't hesitate to let us know if you are arriving late: we will try to accommodate your schedule.

DURING YOUR STAY

Use of the premises

Our lodges, the garden, the swimming pool, the common room La Source, etc. are perfectly sized for the maximum number of guests in each accommodation. For everyone's comfort and peace of mind, but also for safety reasons, it is strictly FORBIDDEN TO RECEIVE VISITORS IN THE ENCLOSURE OF LES TERRASSES, GÎTES EN CÉVENNES.

Peace and quiet

Whether you're staying with us as a couple, a family, a group of friends or a private party, we wish you lots of joy, laughter and happiness during your stay.

However, please respect the peace and quiet of the other guests and the surrounding neighbourhood, by avoiding excessive noise or any other nuisance, day or night, especially in summer during outdoor parties. Sounds and voices bounce off the hill, especially at night when everything is quiet. Please take particular care not to make any noise between 10.30pm and 9am.

This notion of peace and quiet is all the more crucial when you're in a group. With family or friends, there's a lot of laughter and the voices get louder because there are so many of you and you're happy to be together. While a certain level of noise can be tolerated during the day, within reason, it is important to us to preserve the peace and quiet of our village and to ensure that our neighbours are respected.

Please note that ‘events’ (hen/stag parties, birthdays, etc.) are not permitted at Les Terrasses.

We recommend that you consult us if you have not yet made a reservation and if you have any questions. We will be delighted to answer them.

Cleanliness and respect for the site

To preserve the beauty of the site, the village and the surrounding countryside, please do not throw rubbish or cigarette ends on the ground or into the river.

Smoking is prohibited inside the lodges and the reception room. Several ashtrays are available in the outside areas. Please empty and clean them before you leave.

When you go out

Thunderstorms in our region can arrive quickly and are sometimes very violent. When you're away, make sure you close your windows, even in fine weather. On your terrace, remember to close the parasol and to put it down or to unhook the shade sail, bring in objects likely to fly away (cushions, towels, clotheslines...), shelter from the rain cushions, chair covers, rattan furniture...

In the garden

The garden, its lounges, barbecue and swimming pool are communal areas. Share them with common sense and mutual respect.

The barbecue uses charcoal. All the necessary utensils are provided next to the barbecue. Please empty the cold ashes after each use into the zinc bin provided, and clean the equipment for future use.

The swimming pool

You can't wait to enjoy this oasis of cool. We know how you feel! However, certain safety and hygiene rules are essential.
The swimming pool is shared by all lodge guests. We may also use it to cool off from time to time.
Access is unrestricted, and neither supervised nor controlled. It is possible to use the pool after it has been cleaned, at the end of the morning, until it closes, generally at sunset. IT IS FORBIDDEN TO SWIM WHILE THE ROBOT IS IN THE WATER.
When the pool is open, CHILDREN in and around the pool MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT AND ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ADULT.

  • The pool is perfect for cooling off, but it is neither large nor deep.
  • For safety reasons, running on the beach and around the pool, jumping and diving are FORBIDDEN
  • For everyone's comfort and to share the space fairly, no giant buoys or air mattresses are allowed.
  • For obvious reasons of hygiene, you must shower before swimming. Showering is MANDATORY after using sun cream or oil. Under the effect of UV rays, these deposit on the water line and stain the walls IRREMEDIABLY.
  • DRY CONDITIONS: the Gard département is placed under a CRISIS level of restriction every year. Water is rare and precious. Educate your children and teenagers and be exemplary: don't splash, jump or dive.
  • For any drinks taken around the pool, recyclable plastic cups are available in your lodges. CAUTION: broken glass near the pool will result in the pool being closed and emptied completely. You will be billed for the m3 of water.
Drinking in the pool is not permitted.
  • If the pool is temporarily unavailable for technical or maintenance reasons, we cannot be held responsible and no compensation or refund can be claimed.

All these restrictions also apply to groups using the pool for private purposes.

BECAUSE EVERY GESTURE COUNTS

We are committed to a policy of sustainable management of our lodges. We strive to offer you the most sustainable accommodation possible, reducing our carbon footprint over the years and controlling our energy consumption as far as possible. There's a long way to go, but we're trying to make progress every day. We can't do it without your help.

  • Motion detectors or switches with timers are installed in communal areas (gardens, staircases, etc.). All you have to do is press the switch or move closer. The lights go on and off automatically.
  • In your gîte, please turn off the lights in rooms you are not using and when you are away, and remember to turn off your terrace when you return. Multi-sockets with switches are installed to neutralise the standby mode of certain appliances that not only consume electricity but can also cause visual disturbance.
  • Don't leave the tap running unnecessarily. Remember to turn it off when you're soaping up in the shower, brushing your teeth, washing your salad, etc. Do not overload or underload the dishwasher.
  • Your stay is ‘all inclusive’. Please pay attention to your consumption so that we can continue to offer you this rate.
  • In winter, the heating is set to 19°C. If a fleece or plaid isn't enough, you can of course turn it up slightly. Remember to turn it down at night and, of course, when you go out.
  • You have a bin for household waste, a bag or bin for selective sorting and a bucket for compost. Thank you for paying special attention to this civic gesture. Refuse is collected on a voluntary basis at Place Jean-Jaurès. You'll find the household waste containers under the stairs leading up to the square and the selective sorting containers on the square itself. Compost is available in the garden.
  • For private functions, please be careful with the lighting in the garden rooms and the room La Source. Remember to turn them off when you go to bed.

Household and linen care

We provide washable and reusable sponges, coffee filters and make-up remover wipes, as well as our natural, homemade cleaning products. These leave no footprint on the environment and cause no irritation, allergies or itching... Also, in the event of stains from wine, red fruit, fat, blood, etc., please report the dirty linen to us as soon as possible. We will treat the stains before they dry and set in.

TOILETS TOWELS are reserved exclusively for the swimming pool. Don't hesitate to ask us for beach towels for swimming in the river.

IN CASE OF A MISHAP

Accidents can happen. Please inform us of any damage or accident, even if there is no apparent damage.

On arrival, you will be asked to pay a deposit of €300 by cheque or in cash.

In the event of the loss or damage of one or more other important items (set of keys, furniture, lighting, household linen, decoration, etc.), the amount of the security deposit may be retained or reduced by the cost of repair or replacement. We undertake to make this refund or deduction within a maximum of two months and on presentation of supporting documents.

Tenants of furnished holiday accommodation are required to be covered by a "holiday accommodation" insurance policy. Please provide us with this document before your arrival, by any means you choose.

In the event of early departure (before the time stated on the present contract) preventing the inventory of fixtures from being drawn up on the day of the tenant's departure, the security deposit will be sent back by post or returned by bank transfer by the owner within a period not exceeding one week.

BECAUSE EVERYTHING HAS AN END

Please return the lodge in the condition in which you found it on your arrival. The accommodation, its furniture, accessories, kitchen area, crockery, ashtrays, compost bucket, etc. must be left clean and tidied in the cupboards on the day of departure.

Recycling bins, household waste and bathroom bins must be emptied into the containers provided.

We take care of cleaning at the end of the stay, between two tenants. However, you are responsible for cleaning the lodge during your stay.

Please vacate your accommodation by 9 a.m. on the day of your departure.

We hope you enjoy your stay in our lodges.

Marie & Pierre
